amid the race, i looked and heeded
the mountains that extended distant
the field bestowing its yield of colour
my mind was still in the moment of beauty
no interruption, no madness,
just a moment of gladness
calm captured me
wind in my hair, sun on my face
i knew this was the place
no superstructure to navigate
no call to take
no news to screw me round
no arm can reach me
no one can harm me
just a simple thought with no hate
this place simply i rate
i love the peace i found
calmness it brought
like a fine wine, served politely
lest i forget that this is the place
of simpler times
