Working out when it’s the right time to quit your job can be a very personal and complicated choice that considers a range of factors. You have to make a decision based on your own circumstances. It’s essential to assess your circumstances, consider your possibilities, and come to a choice that is most advantageous for your career and overall wellness. Do NOT make hasty decisions. Think critically about your situation.
These are some indications that it may be time to think about leaving our job:
- You experience a lot of discontentment at work. If you can’t seem to rid yourself of dissatisfaction with your job, it may be time to make a change.
- Your mental and physical health is being affected by a work setting that is poison. If your job is giving you too much stress and anxiety, it could be time to find something new. However, many people can’t leave toxic workplaces and the individual reasons for that are plentiful. One reason is that some people don’t have the ‘financial support systems’ just to throw in the towel and quit. Again, do NOT make any hasty decisions. Read my article on a toxic workplace here.
- If you feel like you’ve maxed out on your current role, with no chance for growth or advancement, it’s time to look for something new.
- Your values and beliefs are at odds with the company culture. If the integrity, work ethic, and reliability of the company don’t align with your values and beliefs, or you don’t feel as though you belong, it may be time to move on.
- If you feel like your job has become mundane and uninspiring, it’s likely time to search for something new that will stimulate you.
- If you feel like your hard work is going unnoticed and your efforts are unappreciated, it might be time to find an organisation that respects and appreciates your capabilities.
