Your inner life is important. If you pay attention to it, you will understand what life means to and for you and not the mere meaning of life. Your outer life (Your physical actions every day) will improve, serving yourself and society better. You must feed your inner life with meaningful information. The more you feed your inner life, the more it shapes your outer life. Your outer life must resonate with your inner life. If there is a disconnect between your inner life and your outer life, you will remain unhappy and waste your time on fruitless things.

The inner life is about how you think and behave now and how you want to think and behave in the future. Feeding the inner life is a daily thing. Read widely and listen to things that can contribute to your inner life. Read about other cultures and history. Read myths and fables. Discover mysterious things. Read things about the spirit. Observe how and what people think. Study the human mind. As you feed the inner life, unworthy thoughts, unworthy acts, and unworthy contacts will be crowded out and replaced by noble things. Many people will embrace you because you are the creator of critical thinking and not the creator of criticism. It all comes from feeding the inner life. Valuable will your conversations be.

As you pay attention to your inner life, you will discover three giants; your inherent strengths, gifts, and interests. If you know what they are and you develop them with determination, then you will know what life means for you. Some refer to this as ‘finding one’s life purpose.’

Many people live and die without ever discovering these giants. It is a tragedy indeed to see people striving after goals they neither have the energy nor ability to reach.

Lastly, for many people, the problems of the day, of the hour, of the minute seem far more interesting than inner life. This is an impediment. Every day, everywhere, in all spheres of life, you can see the handicap of the neglected inner life.
